Security Certification

The most secure key safes in the UK

With over 1 million key safes in operation, we are trusted by blue chip companies globally. We do not, however, rely solely on reputation; all of our products have been attack-tested and certified by well-recognised authorities.

The Police Preferred Specification

Keynetics key safes are accredited by Secured by Design (SBD) through their Police Preferred Specification scheme.

This scheme examines whether products have been tested at certified test facilities and meet relevant security standards to prevent criminal activity. The Police Preferred Specification is accredited by UKAS (the United Kingdom Accreditation Service).

Created in 1989, Secured by Design is the official police initiative, focused on improving the physical security of buildings and the surrounding areas, and reducing crime. It is owned by the UK Police Service and aims to raise standards in security product manufacture.

LPS 1175 by Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB)

LPS 1175 is a Loss Prevention Standard, which evaluates physical security products, their design, manufacture, and the actual resistance to unauthorised access.

LPCB is an internationally recognised third party certification organisation, and its Loss Prevention Standards are applied in the Fire and Security sectors around the globe. It is a must-have certification and is often requested by insurance providers.

In order to obtain this certification, Keynetics had to follow a strict procedure, which included product attack-testing and design evaluation, plus a factory production control (FPC) audit.

Once the certificate is obtained, company listing is added to the RedBookLive, a directory of the LPCB certified products that is used as a reference and an assurance proof by regulators, specifiers, designers, insurers and end users.

We are continuously undergoing regular audits to ensure that the products we offer meet the required standards.

Keynetics Security Rating Explained

Within the LPS 1175 standard, there is a security rating classification, or gradation, to determine the suitability of each product for different applications, such as domestic or commercial.

Keynetics Key safes are the only ones on the UK market to achieve C1 and C3 categories.

The gradation of the LPCB classification uses both letters and numbers:

  • Letters represent tool categories, whereby “A” is light-duty, “B” includes heavier tools and so on;
  • Numbers represent time of uninterrupted attack in minutes during the attack tests.
