Are Keynetics key safes easy to install?

SentriGuard® key safe are simple to install. However, a set of rules must be followed in order to ensure that its security certification is not voided due to incorrect installation. 

We offer an affordable installation service throughout the UK and Ireland. Alternatively, a short installation training course is available on request. This option is particularly suitable for companies that would like to manage their own installations and would require course certification issued to their Engineers.

Are Keynetics key safes accredited?

Keynetics key safes meet the Police Preferred Specification, an accreditations scheme by Secured by Design.

Most importantly, SentriGuard® holds LPS 1175 certification by the Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB) and has achieved an unrivalled attack resistance grade (C1 and C3 – SR2) that makes them the only key safes in the UK to be suitable for use on commercial property.

How are Keynetics key safes powered?

Our key safes are powered by replacable internal batteries that last up to 8,000 cycles. 

When a key safe runs low on battery power, an alert will appear on the dashboard of the administration platform. In case the battery goes completely flat, SnetriGuard key safes have a built-in back-up battery that can be activated.

Are SentriGuard® key safes waterproof?

SentriGuard® key safes have a weatherproof design. However, they are not designed to be submerged in water. They are manufactured to work in the most demanding environments with temperatures ranging from -30°C to +55°C.

It is recommended to install key safes away from areas prone to flooding, even though general weather conditions will not cause any problems with the performance of our key safes.

How do I access keys stored in a Keynetics key safe?

Authorised app users can access a key safe through a user-friendly app:

  1.  Open the Access+ App on your mobile device.
  2. Press enter on the key safe
  3. Wait for the key safe to open.

Don’t forget to close it once you have retrieved the keys!

Is key safe access recorded?

Access to SentriGuard® key safes is managed on a bespoke cloud-based platform, which also tracks access information, including the timestamp of visit, individual’s name, etc. When a key safe is opened with the app, user’s mobile device uses Bluetooth to communicate with the key safe. The data is then transferred to the mobile device and automatically uploaded onto the administration platform.

How easy is it to remove access permission to SentriGuard key safes?

You can remove person’s access rights to access key safes with the app through the platform remotely and in a matter of minutes. Once you have updated individual’s access rights, they will no longer be able to access a specific key safe and their settings will be updated in their mobile app too.

Who can use SentriGuard® key safes?

Anybody who is authorised to do so and has been given permission by the platform administrator that manages access to your company’s estate.

Why are there number buttons on key safes?

Good question! While app access does not require any numerical inputs when accessing keys, there are times when authorised individuals need gain entry quickly and securely, for example emergency services, reactive maintenance engineers, irregular contractors and many more.

In those instances, platform administrators can issue temporary codes that are set for specific timeframes and are assigned to named individuals. The code (and access instructions) can be shared with the visitor via email and SMS message directly from the Access+ platform.

How do I access the app?

The Access+ app can be downloaded from both the iOS and Android Play Store. A direct link to the app can be found on the Login page on this website.

I've downloaded it...But how do I log in?

Only users that have been invited to register for the app use by the key safe owners will have credentials for logging in. If you have been given permission to open key safes that belong to multiple companies, you can use the same account for all.

Will the app still work if I have no signal?

The app and key safes are linked using a localised Bluetooth connection. The data is then uploaded from the mobile device to the platform using the device’s mobile connection or Wi-Fi, once the internet connection is restored.

This means that if a key safe is located in remote areas with no mobile signal, the app can still open the key safe, and the data upload will take place once you are back online.
